Lessons In Love

Lessons In Love

A Poem by Laytee Lannette

I hate you I loved you all in that same token
I loved you so I could see into your soul so intimately
Every crack every crevice even the smooth less rigid parts of your soul I knew
You were broken, i knew what it felt like too
Endured some things I couldn't ever wish on the damnedest soul
I saw the struggles, I saw the pain clustered up in your eyes
I just wanted to be your stress reliever when you felt, to get away when you felt there was no way
But somehow in the midst of coming to your rescue, I forgot about me
I thought maybe a little TLC will do, work it's magic
Abracadabra let all the pain be gone, shall perish
Let me take all the pain, the struggles reverse it & fill you all up with love
I tried, I thought it would be enough but it only left me lessened
Half of what I once was, without spirit, without joy, without purpose
For the love of you, i confirmed myself
