A Sophomore's tale

A Sophomore's tale

A Sophomore's Tale

 She is irreplaceable,
the only one who is supposed to be mine,
the only one who completes me.

Like a jacksaw puzzle,
there is only one piece that fits,
I guess that is the trouble,
Everything reminds me of her, in bits.

strolling through the streets,
Wishing so much to see her,
And if we meet,
I'll never know what to say to her.

I will never know whether
Do I deserve her?
there is a bond that connects us, a tether.
or is there?

looking up to the moon and the stars,
trying to figure out what is it that is so Infinite,
I wonder: maybe she has forgotten "us",
found someone better, Moved on.

I am supposed to have her,
knowing that I am the only one who can't have her,
makes me a bit sad.

She will never know how deeply and strongly,
I loved and protected her.

She's the sun to my earth,
the nucleus to my atom,
the magnetic field to my current,
sadly I can't exist without her,
but she can exist without me.

For I can only hope,
That finally, the puzzle completes itself,
and that our paths cross again,
And merge to become one.

Dear goodness, your words are beautiful, absolutely beautiful! The way you've expressed your feelings is a calm, natural explosion (yes) of seemingly sincere and passionate words.. For me the story behind them must be oh so very special.

You've caught the scent of love and all it means. Who knows.. the puzzle may well complete itself if written in the star. Truly pray you do.

Many thanks for inviting me to read your poem..

Nice collection of thoughts about some special beloved who seems to spark almost-constant thinking & longing. This definitely gives the idea that this other person is always on the mind in pleasant ways. Good job of using planetary & physics concepts as metaphors to suggest a love that is as big as space, perhaps. As a suggestion, maybe you could use more sensory phrasings in future writings . . . show instead of tell . . . what does it look like? what does it feel like? what does it smell like? what does it taste like? Adding vivid details makes your poetry more powerful & memorable.
