Sun escape...A Poem by LianaThe sun
toasts my skin and
shrinks my pupils " Just a
pool of blue now. I’m
seeing… but they
can’t see the bare
nakedness behind my vulnerable eyes. My
pupils hide. This
brightness, it gives me a sun
escape. Silhouetting
everything around me to
blackness. I feel
like I’m alone and my
knowing eyes can’t judge " because
all and everyone is one colour. My
thoughts are asleep… A bird
hops cautiously and gently towards me… So close
now, the black uncovers the
radiant white or his eyes and he sits, as his
head tilts… He can
see past my pin-prick pupils. He
doesn’t use his eyes anyway, for
knowing he is instinctive and silent " There’s
a song between us. He flies
away past others eyes in the crowd, I’m
thankful I can’t see them. He
leaves me smiling. The
clouds roll over the sun, my mind
takes over… Still
smiling, I shiver and walk
away…from the sun escape. © 2012 LianaReviews
