Leper's Epic

Forgiveness is a word to some Ignored before formation The premature seed trodden on by feelings which Make even the strongest minds brittle The cretin they perceive is nought but a leper Holding out his hands in search of something Which will take him home to his childhood Before things all went south Before the wave of complication swept in Less a wave than a wailing tsunami Instant, short-lived and leaving All the rubble in its wake Broken down, the survivors look to Someone ready to lend aid But even the most desperate are seen as whining beggars "Do this, do that" is shouted out In somber ignorance Of such places, and circumstances  That the rich have no comprehension of The rich, not in wealth, but in stance  Held high above those who Find themselves shoved to the bottom The ones who need help, denied Although they ask in such beautiful whisper Into the ear of those who lack empathy Or misunderstand the very life That is lead by those who require help  In the face of sheer adversity Life always plays on one side The rich and the poor  Not in wealth, but in stance Above the choices that can be made This being misused, we see some people  Writing in bitter agony And when they are pushed into the corner There is no surprise they have to fight Yet the punches, the lunges, the kicks and the scratches All fold inward upon that very soul who is trying to get back up Yet he pushes himself back down With mistakes and mistreated commentary His mouth runs off before his mind can pick up his fragile legs again And as his utterances betray him his thoughts are trapped inside All he wants to do is say sorry  Go back to how it was Yet obstacles they lurk and ready themselves to pounce  To dim once more the hope-filled light Purge it to its core
