The Embellishment of Nothing At All

The Embellishment of Nothing At All

A Poem by Liamesq

Well they say burn those ashes
Because it's all just a cover up
Well we don't need another cog in our machine
Screwing up our futures without any common sense of mercy
Smelting down the pieces of our future ambitions
And paving way for governmental vanity
Complete with a side of cultural hypocrisy
Trying to educate kids right and wrong
We don't even know what the f**k we're doing with ourselves
Politicians jacking off to their bi-monthly pay checks
While the modern man tries to chew the skin off his fists
Worn from the days he used to be able to fight for what he loved
Now he just punches the wall they've built around him
Separating the electorate from the truth behind mirages of perfection
Because with all the latent propaganda spewing out the mouths and drip-feeding the ignorant
It's not easy to see that the real background is just a cardboard cut out in the distance
So why should a commoner care what the out-of-touch snobs want to do ?
Mass uproars would sort it out but the bitter sweet tear gas of democratic oppression blinds the generations which fall victim to the heavy smog
They burn the incriminating files and they fill the already weighty air
Comes like lead in the lungs exploring every crevice and the spores waver like tiny wrecking balls inside you
A hidden killer in what we think is security
