The Escalation of Name-Calling

The Escalation of Name-Calling

A Poem by Liamesq

Tease me
Make all the names you can think about
Call me
Say them at me with a sinister pout
Tap me
Make first contact, make me aware
Jab me
With your limb you say beware
Poke me
Push your finger into my arm
Flick me
There's more to it than causing physical harm
Mock me
Say stuff behind my back
Shame me
Put me under psychological attack
Humiliate me
Make fun of the way I choose to be
Knock me
Not enough to cause me to flee
Nudge me
Press up to me and mess up my walking
Push me
Interrupts me whilst talking
Trip me
With eyes looking down to me on the ground
Shove me
Into lockers, doors, and all around
Hit me
A gentle strike to begin it all
Scratch me
Draw some blood, but hardly a pool
Punch me
Make it known I'm hated
Kick me
I'm on the floor humiliated
Gauge me
Push your violent fingers in
Cut me
Slice my fragile skin
Stab me
Push the blade into my heart
Carve me
Slice me up quickly, the face is a start
Leave me
To bleed on this damp, cold street
