You.

You.

A Poem by Liamesq

You've known pain more than others
Have seen the worst of most
And often you may find yourself standing in the middle of a bridge
Not wanting to go to either bank
You know the true natures of both
Their bleak realities you've read far too many times before
A limbo, for sure, but never one which may cripple you
You know yourself; a strong sense of identity
Feet stood apart, a confident posture, retuning an elegance
Which you know the world can see
Yet you choose not to acknowledge it
You're no 'adventurer' by title
But you never stagnate, or hold back
Not like the rest of them
You're at home with understanding
Respect is your philosophy for the most part
But you will never be one to admire something you detest
Things which really ignite the infernos of your passionate contempt
Cooled only be your focussed mind
The best of your traits, most believe
Yes, there are still things which knock you off course
It happens to us all
But you, you see them as tests, obstacles
Life's little qwerks and hiccoughs
Not to be dwelled upon, but transversed, transcended
You are you
And make sure that never changes.
