And So She Reached Her Peaceful End

And So She Reached Her Peaceful End

A Poem by Liamesq

And in her eyes black ash became dunes of golden sand
Which swept across the contours of her wonderful story-land
Tornadoes were but gentle winds which caressed her soft, silky face
And only now, at then end, will she find her resting place
In death she sees comfort, not fear or sense of gloom
She accepts it, embracing the reaper's touch, never seeing it as her doom
Her view of the world, the sweetest one could find
Her soul would smile internally, for only peace lay in her mind
Thunder crackled overhead, and lightning filled the sky
But rain would never get her down; merely a state of wet and dry
Trivial things that would affect us, she would never care for
Pain and suffering, loss and grief, she could just ignore
Now she rests upon the floor, the tiles they dent her skin
Grazes cover her broken body, blood dripping from ear to shin
Innocence is no protection in a world which drowns it out
Her gentle little voice plunged into silence by its shout
The end of days eventuates by the fate of this poor dove
Humanity's wrong-doings in its rejection of blissful love
As her skin loses that sweet hue all used to admire
The gods will find the time to put is mortals on our pure
This kind young beauty was this universe's best
We should have seen so long ago, she was our final test
