Searching Nooses On The Internet

Searching Nooses On The Internet

A Poem by Liamesq

I ruined your life, never to apologise
Deep impressions on a broken spirit
Didn't care for your mental state
Threw punches at you
Crippling abuse, testing your limits on a daily basis
Couldn't see the pain in your eyes
A child begging for mercy balled up inside
Is met only by the next throttle and kick

But now I realise it would've been better just to kill you
Than let you plan the act in full
What was going through your mind I wonder ?
As you tied that old, thick rope
Searching 'nooses' on the internet
Making sure there were no mistakes
You stand yourself upon that chair
That nan got you for Christmas
And start to ponder if you should jump or just kick it
You lift up a foot and start to lean forward
Things had never been so clear
Then at that moment you're about to drop

They stop you
Me

They lift me down and then I understand
It wasn't others hurting me
I'm a danger to my sanity.

Certainly a case of split personality here, Liam. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. An interesting twist at the end. I wonder, however, if that fourth line shouldn't read 'Threw punches at you(r) / Crippling abuse'. An interesting read.
