I am

I am

A Poem by Liam Nealey

-Passion
  burns in me,
  drives me to be more,
  forces change that is
-Painful
memories of who I have been,
  things I don't want,
  faces I have
-Hurt
all those who care for me.
  I try to hide myself
  but only succeed in
  showing who I truly
-Hate
  fills my chest,
  is who I am.
  I am who I hate.
  I hate who I am.

Oh wow. I definitely enjoyed this one. You make me want to create a poem using this sort of style. A word finishing one stanza while starting another. That's really interesting.

Line 10--all those who "care" for me.

This poem is written in such an interesting fashion, blending each stanza with the next. I really enjoyed it!

Again very dark, but i love it. While i cant ENTIRELY empathize with this piece, I do get the general gist of it. Ive felt that way, on a slightly less intense level.

Very well put, i like the flow, and the line breaks, very well done, and the semi-alliteration, P, P, H, H, very well done :)

About
I write for myself, things that I like to read. However, I welcome reviews! I find it very interesting how a poem can take on a life of its own, how it can gain more meaning than it was written with, .. more..
