Unable To Heal

This is a poem about when I was feeling a bit down after one of my classmates had left for international studies.

Empty out those tears

Let go of your fears

Your memories may make you cry

But it’s not worth it to die

Your friends, they want you to live

Want you to hope

Want you to never be alone

Want to help you cope

 

But what If they can’t help?

What if the one you’re looking for is far away?

What if the only cure is to see his smile?

To see him talk, walk this way?

What if you are broken?

And only one thing can heal it?

But it’s lost to the world

Lost to life, lost in it

I’m just sitting here

Wallowing in grief

Unable to pour out the resistance

That I know is in me

I want not to worry

I want not to cry

I want to be by myself

The least I can do is try

But right this second, I’m alone

Losing my hopes and dreams

Losing to the surrounding despair

To the far off, dying screams
