Words from my Soul

Words from my Soul

A Poem by ♡Moon Child♡
"

I wrote this poem with mixed emotions...it's how I truly feel...

"

Serrated edges, clear blood raining from my soul

Bite, me, scratch me, your teasing is starting to take its toll

Love is an opinion, depending on what you feel

As its fire touches me, my skin cracks and peels

Your eyes pierce my innermost self, bringing forth my emotions

Time and space mean nothing, compared to my devotion

I confessed to you, my love, that for you I want and yearn

Now, tell me, will you love and take me, or stand and watch me burn?

I lied to you, pretended to be someone I am not

Thinking that, possibly, your love for me could be bought

But when you caught me in this lie, suddenly I knew

That your love must be earned. But now I wonder, who?

Who must I be?  How must I change?

Should my true self and feelings be locked in a cage?

Should I show you the face I know you’ll love the most?

Should I retreat deep inside, the true me being lost?

Will you be the one to draw me out again?

Love will now conquer all, creating peace, and then…

Together, forever, our souls and bodies entwined

Your voice and presence consuming my mind

I love you so much, please hear my tone

Don’t leave me here, vulnerable and alone

Take me in your arms, hold me even tighter

Our lips meet and my spirit becomes even lighter

Tears wet my cheeks at the thought of losing you

I am brought back to the moment when I first knew

That I was yours and you are mine

I’ll earn your trust back over time

This cannot be the end, that I refuse

Now that we’re so close, this love I won’t lose

Love is my question, you hold a clue

I’ll light your path, so you light mine, too

Your sweetness has brought me to one last conclusion

That this journey will get rid of all my confusion

Of whether or not I am worthy of love

My heart sings so that the Angels above

Will hear of my feelings, soon to take flight

I will fly higher and higher, free as a kite

I am almost finished, I have said most everything

Since you told me you will accept almost anything

No matter how you feel or what you say

I live by my motto, live for the day

Whether this love be true or unrequited

No one else will have my love in your stead

I am yours forever, whatever way you want me

My heart is shut and locked, only you hold the key

While others seek to break and abuse

Since you’ve had it, it’s shown no signs of misuse

“I love you” are words I don’t say easily

So love me too, please, for me?

this is a real good poem...but someone shouldnt change themselves just so they will be loved by another...they should be themselves...and over time it will show them if it would work out...for there is someone for everyone and we just need to be our selves...you never know what might happen if you do so.
Great Job :)
