Flesh and bonesA Poem by Lia ColumbusTo think of a person as just flesh and bones shall be declared criminal now
Flesh and bones
My palms hold the light till they shine like a star My eyes worry, at night they are wide apart Electricity runs through the length of my body And sends shivers down my back Every heartbreak paves way for love And I love more than before And I cry more than before But then I try more than before My imperfections bulge as I arch my back They meet at the end of my spine Shaped like a perfect scar I lie like a Saint and Spill blood in my mind I dance on clouds and talk to sun But the moon pushes me back to the ground Where I inevitably burn All my dreams and nightmares are same I am a whole ocean wrapped in skin And ah! You thought I was just flesh and bones? © 2020 Lia ColumbusAuthor's Note
