Enigma

Enigma

A Poem by Lia

Shaded across, deep within

Throbbing blood, comes rushing through

Sharp strong pain, the question remains

Answer that I seek, combined, entwined

The vessel that pumps your poison

Fuels your strain, circulates, and destroys to gain

Grip, force ripping, bitter sweet

Brutal confusion of a sensation seeps

Forceful, unyielding presence

Disguised, destructive, cold, cut deep

Deception of something

We all wish to keep

This piece does indeed provide us with an enigma, as you follow along from line to line, thinking that perhaps you have it, only to find that you do not. There is that forcefulness that stomps through each line, almost each word, allowing us a hint of the brutality of the work... yet, still, through this, we are left knowing this is something we wish to keep. A marvelous example of what I used to term mind candy, food for thought, and this definitely gives cause to that.

I love you. Trust me, I know how confused you are. That's why I don't want to influence you by helping you figure out what you want.. It's hard to not help you, because I love you so much, and I want you happy...But at the same time, it's hard to help you along, not knowing if what you want is what I want as well. You know I'll always be here for you, regardless of what happens
