Lost AngelA Poem by Li YanGrowing up, and the loss of childhood innocence. It's so dark There's not a ray of light in this tunnel underground You yearn for that lost angel For her grace and her warmth You yearn for the soft caress she'd bestow upon your face For the smile so motherly and young, Her unwrinkled face And her bright white hair And the glimmer in her eyes that never dims She'd spread wide her wings And engulf you into a soft embrace She'd whisper to you those words You so desperately yearn for But what will you do when your precious lost angel finds her way While her light dims Her warmth no more Will you continue to search for her? Even as the blisters on your feet Rip open as your blood begs To be held hostage no more And your mind swirls into a pandemonium of screeches Will you continue to search for her Even when both your heart And your mind know she'll never return? Your precious lost angel You must let go of her now You must look in the mirror And finally accept that the figure staring back at you is no one but yourself Only then will you really Let go of your poor lost angel © 2017 Li YanAuthor's Note
