For DadA Poem by Li SolaimanMy father is a silent man But he's a thoughtful one His feelings, he never shares But doesn't mean there's none I don't think I could love another As much as I love my father Not because I'm his daughter But because he raised me; made me better When there's no work, he stays at home and cooks all sorts of food Then mom would yell to help him out Oh, how I wish I could When he's not tired, we go outside and eat to our desire But when we're done, he would confide "I cook better than the chef they hired" He keeps a garden, by the way hidden from the rest to see Hoping that they'd grow someday into beautiful scenery Do not say rich, but rather blessed That's what he always says What we have now, we should not boast For they're not ours, but God's My father's time, it's always fixed That's how disciplined he is He sleeps as early as 7, sometimes 8 His body clock never fails Now that my dad's a year older and maybe a few pounds lighter I wish for more years together For I'd like to keep him forever© 2014 Li SolaimanFeatured Review
