You Will Never Know

I can't stand the people who think they know me and what I'm going through. If I wanted them to know, they would.

So, you think you want to know

What is going on in my mind.

You think there’s a deep secret;

A secret so dark and hard to find.

You think I enjoy this suffocating mask

And be who I don’t want to be.

You think I like being someone

That isn’t the real me.

You think I’ll just let it out

And let you know the truth.

You think that I’ll tell you about my scars

And then show the dastardly proof.

 

You say you love and care for me

But I will not fall for it.

This secret about me is mine and mine alone

So just please, stop and forget.

Forget the desire to know my thoughts;

Of all the hiding I have done.

I won’t let you near the secret inside me

For once I tell you, you’ll be gone.

So you will never know this burden I carry;

Just the direction from which I came.

You won’t get to this dark secret inside

Even though you are to blame.
