I Love You Anyway

I Love You Anyway

A Poem by Into_The_Cosmos
"

In honor of this brother of mine, I have written a poem about how I view him and how much he means to me.

"

Sticky fingers and a Kool-Aid face;

Broken things hidden without a trace.

Swords and foam bullets here and there;

Games and toys everywhere.

Nerf guns and balls spread out in the yard;

Sweaty face from playing hard.

Bruised skin and bloody knees;

Stings from ants and splinters from trees.

Feet stomping on the floor;

Greasy fingerprints on the door.

A painful and another whine;

A mischievous smile that seems to shine.

Loves to listen to every song;

Knowing no words yet, sings along.

Housing insects of all shapes and sizes;

Always full of awkward surprises.

Coming in with a runny nose;

Tracking dirt from shoes and clothes.

Playing video games all through the night;

Scary movies bringing great fright.

Ketchup stains on your new shirt;

Always never afraid to get hurt.

Pesky torments all through the day,

Even when I ask you to go away.

Sometimes you are quite a bother,

But I love you anyway  because you’re my little brother.
