Halfway across the world

Halfway across the world

A Poem by Lexyeff

More difficult than you know
What's it like to have your heart scattered in pieces around the map? I know, and I know it's an ache that can't be seen. It's an ache so vicious it can be felt by those surrounding it. It twists and curls your insides. Inventing new knots of nausea. Debate flutters through your mind. A never ending reel of pros and cons. Yet nothing ever evens out. The crave for one thing starts as soon as the previous is satisfied. It's enough to make you search out a getaway. Whether it be a substance paired with a sea of unconscious faces. Or a quiet corner in an empty room, bursting with your own sorrow. It's a struggle. Everything becomes an anchor. And the people you cherish the most become vulnerable to your choice... When the sad truth is; you're not even worth the dependence. You're so unsure about yourself it doesn't feel fitting for anyone to be sure about you. Caged in your own emotions yet your options are an open door. To leave behind bits of yourself everywhere is torture. And it doesn't come back with you. No, it stays firmly planted in the palms of someone who couldn't quite catch you quick enough. Everyone has an opinion about where they want you to be. Whether it's burning in hell or against their body heat. Too bad each suggestion is infectious. Taking over your brain like a terminal tumor. Making the decision, more difficult than you know.

About
Hello fellow writers, I normally use writing as an outlet. When I'm going through something I convert it into a metaphorical piece. I've been told it's 'different', but I hope some of you guis.. more..
