Jesus, LoveA Poem by ShiikaJust wrote this a few minutes ago. It was inspired by this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9AL65GPSfo. Hope you enjoy. Feedback/criticism is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jesus loves you <3My Lord, My Savior, My God, My King, The One Who deserves my best in everything. The One Who taught me love is willfully ignorant As opposed to blind, how we usually hear it Phrased. See,
true love sees all the mistakes, The failures, the flaws- everything we hate About ourselves.
Yet, it chooses to stay Even when it’s given every reason to walk away. God is the author and definition of love. Just look at the crucifixion, where His skin was cut And torn apart from His body. Look at what He endured for you and me. He left eternity for time, bliss for pain, Was born of one of His children, Mary being her name. He suffered hunger, thirst, rejection, and loneliness. He suffered heartache and pain until His last breath. He took on our sin, not because we deserved it, But because there was no other way to have a
relationship with Him. See, He did all this and more just so we could be with
Him, And live an abundant life, forgiven of our sin. He did it not because He had to; He doesn’t need us. He did it because He wanted to, thus proving His love. See, love does things not out of obligation, But out of desire, for the good of the object of its
affection. This is what really blows me away about my Savior: He knows everything about me, even my sinful nature; And yet, He chooses not only to forgive and love me, But to welcome me back with open arms joyfully. He doesn’t hold grudges or remind me of my past, But invites me into His kingdom, where His reign will
last Forever. See,
people may leave, saying they’ve had enough But God doesn’t, because it is His love. The greatest and highest form that there is. And He invites everyone into a relationship with Him. No, He doesn’t accept the sin; He accepts the sinner. And forgiveness is available, for He is the Giver Of this gift, of Wisdom, of Love, Of every good and perfect gift that comes from above. Just come to the cross, where He hung as a condemned
Jew, Where He said, “I love you” before you even knew. © 2013 Shiika |
