That Time in the CycleA Poem by ShiikaAnother poem from my Creative Writing class. This one had to be overstatement/understatement; I chose overstatement. Hope you enjoy. Jesus loves you <3 :)The agonizing pain Turns her into a monster. Her muscles expand exponentially. She rips through the fabric Of her jeans and tee. Like a woman in labor, Hideous are her screams. She goes on a rampage; The terror spreads like a virus. No one is safe from this creature’s wrath. The men watch their words carefully; Whatever they say could be their last. It depends on the monster’s mood. Her moods change like Carolina weather. She destroys everything in her path. Her victims are everyone around her. Her cries pierce through the still air. Wolves and coyotes howl in response. She stays in this state for about a week, Then humanizes on the seventh day’s dawn. This continues twelve times a year, But this is more than a mere trifle. So take heed to this final warning: Beware the female on her cycle. © 2013 Shiika
