A Sweet Haunting

A Sweet Haunting

A Poem by Shiika
"

Another poem written in my Creative Writing class. The prompt for this one was "a poem about life's contrasting dualities, or paradoxes." Hope you enjoy. Jesus loves you <3 :)

"

Four times I broke his heart,

Each time worse than the last.

He’s forgiven me, but I struggle

To leave this in the past.

The tears, the sickness, the heartache,

All return full force at will.

He tells me to let it go;

Yet, I cling to these memories still.

See, there’s a hidden beauty to it all;

There’s sweet honey after feeling the bee’s sting.

Despite all of that, he stayed with me,

And that fact makes my heart sing.
