Addiction

Addiction

A Poem by Alexis Ortega

I’m LYING here where you left me

Your taste LINGERS on my tongue

Addiction could NEVER compare

To this bittersweet DRUG I can't resist

You ENTOXICATE my lungs

But I SUFFOCATE without you

You're my only source of OXYGEN

Yet it’s KILLING me to love you

Not only do I WANT you

My body, my senses NEED you…

Short but it packs a punch. I like how you put emphasis on certain words but coloring them red. I can absolutly relate to such a poem. Good stuff, keep up the good work.
