Sing to me.

Let your words fall

Like the pieces of a teenage heart.

 

Let them break,

Like a guitar in the hands

Of a soaring rock star.

 

Because

You understand.

 

We’ll take my book

And set fire to its pages,

We’ll draw vines

Around the lines of your lyrics,

 

The puzzle pieces that drip from my mind,

The distorted pictures

That paint themselves,
You picked them up
And made a song,

You took a brush

And painted my thoughts,

 

In black and white

Ribbon

And white lace,

With mascara

Raining on your cheeks,

Red checkered cotton

And a set of keys,

You sing to me,
