Did it Hurt?

Did it Hurt?

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

You fell far,
But I didn't
Fall at all.

When you came crashing down,
I touched the clouds
Far far from your offer,

Does it hurt?
Knowing that you jumped.
And I didn't.

I never promised to
Never agreed to love you,
So when you held out your hand
I stretched my wings,

Did it hurt?
When you hit the ground alone.
When you looked up at the sky
And realized you fell with no one.

But I never promised,
So when you held out your hand
My heart took flight,

Because I don't see
The leap of love,
I see the bottom
With all its bloody victims.

I never promised,
But you still jumped.
I never promised,
But you're still waiting.

And I'll stay up here,
Here
Where I am safe.

Wow. I love that and the way it is written. Lovely word choice and I love the form. This is so deep and truly amazing. I'm just going to end up repeating myself, so sorry for the not really helpful or full review, but I can't think of anything else to say besides I love this poem in every way. (:
