You Were There

You Were There

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid
"

Dreams can be the trickiest things. Especially when they create a scene that you never imagined could give you those feelings.

"
You were there,
I don't know why
But you were,

And you didn't just make an appearance,
You were the leading role,
Like you were meant to be there
With me,

What is this?
This sadness?
When I wake up to find
It was all a dream,

You didn't say those words
Make those gestures
Take my hand,

My pillow cannot shake this feeling,
The feeling I felt when you were wtih me,
And then I remember how far away
We are from the scenes played out,

I close my eyes once more
Wondering if you'll be there waiting,
Your hand outstretch for me,
Your gentle smile calling me,

So I'll slip away once more,
Because in this dream
You love me.
