On His Knees

On His Knees

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid
"

When the love of his life is faced with a deathly sickness, he finds himself humbled to the ground and his voice calling to the skies.

"
His knees are bloodied
Are bruised,
"God heal her,
God please heal her,"

If ever a man was broken,
He knelt before God now,
His knees bloodied and bruised,
"God you promised,
You promised,"

If a man ever wept,
No one more than he,
The pressure of a Saviors hand
Rested on his shoulder,

"You gave me love,
My half-My perfection,
Let her stay, God,
Let her stay,"

He prayed on his knees,
Bloodied and bruised,
God was his life
But she was his love-his one true partner,

"God heal her,
You promised,
Let her stay, God,
I'm trusting in you,"

If ever a man was broken,
He knelt before God now,
If a man ever wept,
No one more than he,

But the pressure of Saviors hand
Rested on his shoulder,
And the hand of a listening God,
Rested on his future wife.

I will put them in my prayers. A beautiful and emotional poem. Better to pray with someone. A very good poem.
