Words for Someone

Words for Someone

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

Write another line,
To one I'll never touch,
The words all different
Clashing and dancing
Only to speak the same feeling,

I watch you move,
You are everything I never wanted,
Everything I have hated my whole life,
And yet the words continue to come
Clashing and dancing
Only to speak the opposite,
Opposite of a mind's reasoning,

You speak these words,
Honest and true
Yet we have nothing to give,
Nothing to prove our sentences,

You are everything I never wanted,
Drunk with everything I hate,
You dont want to change
And I dont want you to change for me,

But its only you I wish to taste,
Breathe in and keep safe,
Take the dreams away,
Replace your booze with my lips
Replace the cigarettes
With your hands at my hips,

I can't fix you
And you cant save me,
But my whole heart wants to try,
Try to take the glaze from your eyes
And put a fire inside,

But these are words for someone I'll never touch,
They are dancing and clashing
Speaking the same feelings,

Your hat on your head,
My dress caught in the wind,
Miles and miles away
With words dancing all over the place,

You are everything I hate,
And yet my mind can only think
Of your hands at my waist,
And getting that
One wishful taste.
