Lord

Lord

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

Lord,

I have lost my way,

These tears touch such a poisonous path,

My eyes no longer rest on your beautiful face,

My feet,

Tired and filthy,

Drag so heavily toward a destination

Dripping with darkness and sorrow,

Lord,

I need to feel your arms

More now than ever,

Lord,

I miss you more every time my heart beats,

But your voice no longer rings in my ears,

Your presence no longer felt in my soul,

How can I call you my God

If I won’t even let you be Lord,

I have slipped so far,

Fallen so fast,

Yet it has been such a slow descent,

You have given me so much,

And I have wasted and thrown away

So much more,

You have taken such heavy burdens,

And I have given nothing in return,

Lord,

My heart hurts,

My eyes,

They sting,

The tears that run down my cheeks,

Each one is an apology,

A beg for forgiveness,

Lord,

You catch each one,

Like you have caught me my whole life,

I can’t breathe without you,

So let my breaths become stronger,

Please be mine,

Please be my Lord,

Now and forever,

Because I need to feel you now,

Now more than ever.

Kind of reminds me of my fallen angel poem.
I really liked this Alexa! It pours out your soul onto
the parchment.
We all feel this way from time to time.

Great write thanks for sharing.
