It Grows WingsA Poem by Alexa TarvidLook at the world through a writer's eyes, See the blueprints of life through a writer's mind, It seems quite different, The colors may be more vivid Or maybe dripping of dark shades, The bird's song lovelier OR just a pitiful excuse of a melody, Whether it be lighter or darker The sight through a writer's eyes is different indeed,
A writer's mind tends to wander, The mandatory trivials of everyday Are not enough to keep it grounded in place, It grows wings (Whether white or black) And flies to a world all its own, A world too largely vast and eccentric To be anything but a writer's home,
It all is quite different, No writer is the same, One might see life as the flower, Sitting in a lovely forest As a light shower drizzles the sweet pedals with rain, And another may see it As the broken nature of existence Sitting in a room With walls covered in the sorrow and pain,
So if ever you find the urge To see life through writer's mind, I warn you My dear friend, To think wisely of the writer you seek, For a day in the mind of Allen Poe, Could leave you wth dark shadows And horrid dreams you might have wished to never see, But to look through the eyes of Thoreau, Could leave you longing To live a life not possble in today's reality,
One thing I can guarante, My dear dear friend, Is a trip through a writer's mind, And a look through a writer's eyes, Will definitely leave you thinking.
