Lips SealedA Poem by Alexa Tarvidbound by SilenceSilence, It binds, Like the unrelenting chains of immortal time, Lips sealed, Sealed with a simple thread and needle, It's woven through by every thought, Every doubt,
Silence, I am bound by it, Itching and scratching At the needle work that curses my words, My every thought, Unrelenting, Immortal, A silent demon of mine,
Lips sealed, Dare I speak a word All will come flooding out, One tear dare escape, And my heart will run dry, Dare I be free of these chains, Will there be anything of me left?
Silence, My Silence Holds so many words, I wish I could show you, Hold your hand and tell you that everything is going to be okay, But I can't For I am bound,
Lips sealed, Sealed by a simple needle and thread, Woven by a spirit that knows them best, My own heart, To protect me, My own chains And I hold the key, But it's buried deep inside of me,
Silence, Such a meaningful time of soundless space, Only the clanking of the metal links that hold it there, For my own protection, Lips sealed Against myself, My words, My thoughts,
A silent demon of mine.
