God Made Her

God made her,

And because of that

She was beautiful in every way,

To us

She was beautiful,

 

God made her,

And because of that

She was magical,

Her hands were made to craft,

To create,

She was gifted

To create gorgeous works of art,

Beautiful,

Just like her,

 

God made her,

And because of that

She had a wonderful mind,

It was filled with strength and care,

Dipped in a bit of sarcasm,

And sprinkled with a fiestiness and stubborness

Only a Lady Brucker could get away with,

 

God made her,

She knew it,

And because of that

She is with Him now,

Reminding Him that her dad needs a couple extra angels,

And God is with her now,

Reminding her

That He had been there all along,

That He has loved her with His whole heart

Because He made her,

 

And though she is with Him

Instead of us,

We couldn't possibly forget her,

Never,

We will never forget her,

 

Because she was beautiful in every way,

Gorgeous,

Wonderful,

Beautiful

Because God made her.

 

Author's Note

Barbara Sanchez was born on March 6, 1946 and was adopted by Les Brucker and Marian Brucker. They had six other children, one boy and five girls. The six daughters, and their mother, hold that same rambuctious stubborness. My Aunt Barbara passed away on December 30, 2008. This poem is about and dedicated to her.
