Cradle Me

Cradle Me

A Poem by Alexa Tarvid

Look at me,
All I need to know is that you know I'm here,
If our eyes could just meet,
No one else would matter,
Nothing could break me away,

Talk to me,
I wish to hear your voice,
To listen to your stories and jokes,
I want to make you laugh and smile,
Oh how I wish to see that smile,

Hold My Hand,
Please pull me away from the edge,
Never let me go,
Because I'm on my last string of sanity,
And you're holding it,

Hug me,
I need to feel your arms around me,
That sweet touch that brings me back,
If only life would let this happen,
For I would not want to be held by anyone else,

Cradle Me,
Life seems to be a drowning presence,
The stones fall away and my wall leaves me weak,
I am holding up half the world and left with no rest,
So cradle me,
Because you're one of the very few things that keep me standing.

What a remarkable write. This really touches that secret place in each of us that we try to protect from the world.
