In Your Arms

In Your Arms

A Poem by Lexi
"

I wrote this while lying in the embrace of my sleeping lover.

"
You sigh softly
pressing your body to mine.
Hand gliding over my skin
as if you are searching for something.
Gentle fingers spread across my ribs
holding me down.

Holding me down so I don't
Float away.
Protecting me from cold breezes that will
Whisk me away.
Steady beating reminds my scarred organ to
keep beating.
Warm wind caressing my neck guiding
Inhale. Exhale.

Quiet.
Calm.
Safe.

Foreign words in the blackest night.
That is, until you taught me the language.
Lending your love, providing bright moonlight.
