The Silent One

The silent ones and how they see that the world can be a good place.

The silent one sees

All the happenings

From the spoken word

To gestures of the absurd.

The language of the silence 

She has down to a science,

Intuition her tool

Secretly she rules the school.

Eyes only take in the malicious

Mouths find rumors quite delicious,

But she sees the loveliness

And potential for happiness.

Each small act performed unconsciously

Goes unnoticed, such an atrocity.

Each harbors some good

If access it they could,

A smile in the hall

Or kindness at all

May make someone's day,

Hi is all you must say.

This world won't be so bad, 

For me must go just a little mad

To undertake a task of exasperation

And realize it nye need damnation.

Lexi, never apologize for what you've written. Simply write what comes out and make changes as necessary. Good poetry begins in the heart, travels through the mind and ends in the spirit. You capture the difficulties of navigating school quite well. I like your structure as it fits well with your subject and goal. Try some different forms, like free verse, blank verse, and sonnets. Just keep writing, because you have important ideas to express.
