As the mirror showsA Poem by LexiA girl's battle with anorexia and the mirror
120
Happy face Chubby thighs She likes to dance But looks into the mirror And sighs. 115 Guys stare Say she looks great, Friends giggle Never late. The mirror tells To her the Marvels of losing more. 112 Food whispers Their calorie count And her friends start To wonder. The world becomes gray As the mirror shows Progress left to go Relief lie only in slumber. 108 Friends ask questions So she pushes them away. Sleepless nights Give way to workout bikes. Sustained on minimum, She must reach perfection The mirror shows all her Abundances 90 Face gaunt Eyes dull Pale white A sad sight. Tears all around, Snotty rags passed. Friends and family Wish they noticed. Now she lie at peace For the mirror had Finally won the battle. © 2014 LexiAuthor's Note
