Savior

Savior

A Poem by Lexi
"

You said you'd be there but now you leave me surrounded by my demons to fight this war alone.

"
I was broken and crying
But you held me tight.
You coaxed out my secrets with "No more lying"
And slowly taught me to see the light.

Over the months recovery
Was hard, sometimes I thought not right.
But your words led me to discovery,
For you, I continued to fight.

Songs and beauty
Flocked the day,
But night was sooty
For demons joined the fray.

Slowly you learned about
My plague of demons,
And chased them out
Of nights regions.

Slowly the entourage returns
But you my savior
Have left me with burns,
Reprimanding my misbehavior.

Sleep is just an oasis
Which I never chance upon,
For the shadow encases
This devil spawn.

You lied
And said you'd always be there.
Well now the rope is tied,
For fair is fair.

This is really beautiful. So much emotion and meaning in it. I loved it

The word choice in this poem is so dark! It's wonderful. The imagery is beautiful and the edge of bitterness at the end is very well received.

u know i like this poem, in a twisted sort of way...it mirrors how i feel...constant disappointments, lonely, and out of touch....Well done!
