Chapter 1: UPs And Downs

Melony Jones has had one of the roughest month ever. Her mother left and her father dropped her and her twin brother off at her cousins. Her dad had no specific reason, he just said he had some unfinished business. She never understood her dad. He seemed to have a horrible past that kept coming after him. But it wasn’t out of the ordinary most werewolves had bad past. Luckily, Melony and her brother, Jake had it good for a while. Now Melony doesn’t know what to do. Her cousins are the worst. They are deceiving and the only adult she can trust is her Aunt Lauri.

 

Chapter 1: Ups and Downs

 

“ Jake come on! I am not going to be late for school!” I said as I ran downstairs and out the door. Jake was just running behind me. We had a few minutes to get to school before the tardy bell.

“ Ya we made it! Woo!!” Jake yelled as he ran through the school doors not noticing that everyone was staring at him. Jake was silent and slowly walked to his locker. I couldn’t help but laugh a bit.

“ Mel! Your back! Casey and Jason yelled as I went to get some breakfast. Me, Casey, and Jason just did some catching up. The school day went by pretty quick till we went to language arts. We had to read about some book that has creatures in stuff. One of them was werewolves and everything in there was a lie. The stupid book mentioned that when a full moon comes out we become all hairy and nasty but we don’t. Were not nasty or hairy some look like actual wolves or dogs. Also we can turn into a wolf whenever we want but we can’t control it on full moons. That it.

 

A few days later

 

“ Attention Everyone! Tomorrow is the new years dance. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria for 2 dollars” said the principal at lunch.

“ Hey Case are you going?” I asked

“ I don’t know. It depends if Drake ask me out.” She said with a small grin

“ Haha, you still have a crush on him hasn’t it been like 2 years ” said Jason

“ Shut Up!” said Casey hitting him in the arm

“ Ow no wonder he wont ask you out. Your Aggressive.” said Jason. As he was biting into his sandwich Casey got up and hit him in the back of the head

“ Jason I think you need be quiet. You know Casey she can beat up the whole football team”

“ Haha ya right she is so w--”Jason stopped when Casey gave him the evil eye “ You know what never mind.” I laughed at how crazy my friends are.

When the dismissal bell rang I ran out of class and searched for my brother. My Aunt had made it clear that we always needed to be by each other when we walk home. While I was looking I ran into Jason instead. He looked at me like he was scared.

“ What’s the-” Before I could finish he pulled me into the side of the hallway and gave me a note and then he ran off. I put the note in pocket and searched for my brother.

After I found him we walked home. I got bored and finally pulled out jasons note. It wrote.

 

Um…I know you don’t believe this but I’m really

shy. And I was just wondering if maybe you

wanna go to the new years dance…with me.

I understand if you don’t but just give it some

thought.

 

“Oh haha look who has a crush” said my brother leaning over me as I read the note. “Are you going to go with him??”

“Ya why shouldn’t I.” I said smiling but I had this weird feeling. The next day I told him that I would go with him but that weird feeling again like I had forgotten something. I couldn’t think of it though.

Night Of The Dance

“Mel! Where are you going!” said my aunt lauri as I ran at the door. Her voice seemed furious so I stopped and looked at her. “ Tonight is the full moon. You can’t go anywhere.”

That’s what I forgot…the full moon. That’s when I felt guilty. I ran to my room calling Jason but he never answered. I feel like he’s going to think I lead him on or that I stood him up. Dam! I hope I don’t hurt him

Next Day

As I walked into the school everyone was talking about the dance. It was there main topic. When I walked deeper in the hallway I saw Jason with another girl. It was Dahlia Winters. I had guessed they were together on how deeply they were staring into each others eyes. After a few minutes they left and Jason walked over and talked to me. I apologized for standing him up and he was fine with it. He said he knew me and him wouldn’t work out. Which kinda just pissed me off. I held it in but come on why say that! As I walked to class he introduced me to his friend Aaron.

Aaron was CUTE. I kept saying that in my head. Wait! Before you think anything. It doesn’t mean I like him. OKAY. Alright maybe it does but shhhh. XD

“ Hi” said Aaron as he looked at me with an adorable smile

“ Hi “ I said Back

“ Hi” he said

“ Aaron you already said that!” Jason said as he thumped Aaron in the head. Aaron walked me to class. We had so much in common. Maybe me and Jason weren’t supposed to be together. Hmm I’ll just wait and see.

 

At home after school

 

“ You stupid jerk” My cousin said as he yelled at my brother

“ Shut up Jesse! I didn’t do crap!” My brother said. I sat there and watched then I finally ended the nonsense. Since Jesse was scared of wolves (he was born human) I changed and barked. He screamed and ran downstairs. I changed to my normal self and laughed and high fived my bro.

“ Melony!” I heard my uncle yell as he walked up the stairs. “ why did you bite Jesse!”

“ what! I didn’t bite him I just scared him by barking so he would leave Jake alone!” I said. Sadly my uncle didn’t like me…so he kicked me out of the house. Ya I am a 14 year old kicked out of the house! That should be illegal. He had made me pack and leave. Aunt Lauri tried to talk him out of it cause she knew Jesse lied but my uncle was violent…Luckily Casey took me in, her mom was nice unlike my cousins.

Casey’s house wasn’t as I suspected it was very modern and simple. So was her room but It was weird. When we were in her room having our own little slumber party. I had left to the restroom and when I came back. Casey was gone. I searched everywhere but all I found was a hamster. It was black and white. It was running around the floor. I grabbed it but then it bit me and I put it down. Then the creepiest thing happened it changed…
