Growing UpA Poem by Lexie DunhamA poem about different stages in life
When we are two
All we can do Is sit and gurgle, laugh and coo When we are four It's time for more 'Cause school is not yet, well... a bore When we are six We're in a fix 'Cause we are always up to tricks When we are eight We stay up late We still think life is pretty great When we are ten We trick again No mom or dad can stop us then When we are twelve We start to delve In all the books there on the shelves When we're fourteen We're still too green To stop others from being mean When we're sixteen We keep as clean As anyone has ever been Then finally we turn eighteen And finally step in the dream With adulthood and caffeine
