Waiting on the StairsA Poem by Lexi Wilkins
At first I thought it was a lie
It was more than I could take All the long lonely nights The more my heart would break Two thirty in the morning You're nowhere in sight I thought that you loved me I know this can't be right Every time you walk out the door I'm begging you to stay It's gotten out of hand love It's the price I have to pay I was crazy to think I could change you I was crazy to think you cared Guess I'll light up a cigarette And wait for you on the stairs They told me not to trust you They said you're full of lies How could I not see this You wore a great disguise So once again I'll sit here Waiting for you to come home I don't think I'll forgive you For leaving me all alone
