Waiting for Spring

Waiting for Spring

A Poem by Askew

Spring is on the way
The trees shake off the lingering chill
The emerging sun is warming my cold bones
Slowly but surely
Fire is filling my veins
Heating my heart
Boiling my blood
Summer will come
And when it does
I will be a force like no other
For now I will wait
Practice patience
I will swim in the cool water
For spring is on the way
