A Poem by Askew

By the gods
I was kissed
And days later
My face is still flushed
And my heart is burning
With the memory of those lips
So sweet and innocent
With nostalgia at it's core
I want to be held
As I'm kissed
My dreams are filled
With images of those arms
Wrapped tightly around me
Sitting in class
I'm vibrating
Anticipation coursing through me
And a big, dumb grin
Stretching my cheeks
Until they hurt
I missed this
Will you kiss me again?

Indeed the exciterment and anticipation are well portrayed in this fast flowing freeverse as the protagonist reflects and relives that first kiss.

This poem is really well written. It is a clichéd love poem but it makes the heart flutter. I love that there is no punctuation because I do feel it flows more smooth that way. Each line is filled with the love emotion so there is no straying from the topic you wanted to say and as I said you express your emotions well.
