ReconnectingA Poem by Askew
By the gods
I was kissed And days later My face is still flushed And my heart is burning With the memory of those lips So sweet and innocent With nostalgia at it's core I want to be held As I'm kissed My dreams are filled With images of those arms Wrapped tightly around me Sitting in class I'm vibrating Anticipation coursing through me And a big, dumb grin Stretching my cheeks Until they hurt I missed this Will you kiss me again?
