Preface

Long ago, the world of Altveria was in constant turmoil as monsters roamed free along the planet, destroying homes and preventing any major cities from surviving long. The races of the world that were created by their own gods, Humans, Felines, Canines, Ursidae, and Aves all coward and hid where they could for countless years until the five gods came together and combined the traits of their respective races to form a guardian race to protect the land and keep the peace in their kingdoms and the world.

The intelligence of humans, the grace of the felines, the senses of the canines, the strength of the Ursidae, and the wings of the Aves. All of these were combined to create Dragons, the guardians of the world. The gods armed the dragons with the finest blades and armor and blessed them with the knowledge to forge their own before opening the sky and unleashing them to the Earth. The dragons flew through the sky and marched on land, killing any of the unholy monsters that terrorized the races. They drove them back to what is known as the darkest cave and sealed them in where they still remain trapped to this day.

The world, now cleared of monsters, finally flourished under the protective hand of the dragons. The humans built great powerful cities to the west in the plains where they raised their horses and tinker with their machines. The felines took to the jungles where they built extensive tree top villages and eventually a city in the heart of the thick jungle. The canines moved south to the mountains where they dug in and made deep dens and mines. The Aves did remained scattered always will be, constantly moving and never settling in large groups. And finally the Ursidae took to the far north where they built massive fortresses of ice and snow to live in isolation from the other races.

As for the dragons, the gods were so pleased with them for their work in protecting Earth, they granted them  blessed land between all the kingdoms where they could easily come to the aid of those in need. This blessed land was dotted with large floating islands, held in the sky by the gods love for them. The dragons built mighty castles and beautiful palaces on these islands while constructing white and gold court halls along the ground for the other races to come and dispute laws and rules.

For thousands of years the balance was kept by the dragons who prevented major wars and kept laws and trade fair between the nations. But as the years went by, feelings of hate and distrust crept into the hearts of some of the nations. The humans did not trust the dragons, feeling that humans should be writing and maintaining laws. The canines resented the dragons who prevented them from claiming new territory and taking their metals to build their own kingdom.

But the protected races were not the only ones with changing feelings. The dragons, normally with no single leader, had elected to put a warrior dragon at the top of the command chain with growing fears that the other races may attack. This dragon named Leviatis pulled the dragons into an age of military strength more than order and law. Nations were on edge as the humans built their machines of war and the wolves began refusing to give metal to the dragons. Finally an explosion at the Dragon grand hall spiraled the kingdoms into a war no one had seen before. The dragons claimed the humans had worked with the wolves to create and place a bomb. And The day after the explosion, the skies were filled with the organized ranks of dragons as the war began...
