Window Bird

Window Bird

A Poem by Levendy

There’s a Bird by my window

It doesn’t look in

Doesn’t see me

It sits staring at the world

I tap the window

I want its attention

But the world is more important

The Bird chirps

Singing to the world

I want its song, its lullaby

I tap the window

Again the world is more important

I sit near the window

To hear, to see the Bird

Still it doesn’t see me

I stand close to the window

Still it doesn’t see me

I slide it open a jar

Still it doesn’t see me

Open it more, inch by inch

Still it chirps and sings

It’s within reach now

But the world is more important

It sings to the world

It flies off to the world
