This is very true. The distinction between what a guy does and should do is illustrated really well here, and I personally wish such distinctions need not be drawn. The age of the gentleman is slowly dying... I like the poem though, I didn't even notice the lack of a rhyming scheme, but it worked really well for this piece.
this is sooo true. completely illustrates the difference between what should b done and what happens. this tends to happen way to much in society these days and its difficult to find a guy that loves with his heart not his eyes. very good write
I'm of the male gender and I completely agree with this poem, every time one of my close friends comes to me saying that their boyfriend has been pressuring them into doing things they're not ready for, it frustrates me, because I want to do something, but I can't because it's really none of my business. I believe that any girl, or woman for that matter that has to put up with stuff like this deserves much better than what they have. Including you.
Well, Leslie I had tears fall down my face. This is in fact my dream guy that I've been dying for. I hope one day me and you both find 'him" :) I loved it!!
As everyone else has already commented, this behavior amongst guys is, sadly, common. I guess I'm lucky my boyfriend doesn't act that way...or maybe he just knows the tricks, like John Fitzgerald warns....It's a great poem, though, with a well-needed lesson towards, everyone really. Some girls don't know how to act right, either. I like the color difference you added and my only critique would be to watch your spelling and don't miss a word ("Do want to be with me?" should probably have a "you" in there). Thank you.
sad truth for a lot of girls out there, but i wouldn't just limit it to guys, just saying there are a few women out there who are worse... however, has your boyfriend told you he loves you? if he hasn't then he's probably not prepared to wait, maybe you should look elsewhere
It's what most guys do and the shy guys just think in their heads, wishing. Especially at this age. Perhaps if he "loves" you so much he wouldn't object to a shock collar. lol.
I like the narrative of the piece. Just watch yer spelling.
It a new year and a new me. I have deleted my old information and have decided to start over. Life is full of ups and downs, disapointments, regrets, mistakes...but all these things make us who were a.. more..
