My Bloody Valentine

On this day you celebrate love and joy.

But I have to celebrate the death of a boy.

On this day I should be happy and merry.

But all I can think about is the boy I had to bury

I still recall that cold Winter day.

When I found you laying still in the stacks of hay.

For in that gruelsome moment time had stoped.

As I looked upon every drop,

Of scarlet blood that had been spilled.

For my one true love has been killed.

I will never forget what once was mine.

I will always remeber my "bloody" Valentine

This an old poem that I wrote when I first started writing. It is one of my favorites.I changed a few things here and there but its mostly still the same.

I really like this poem. It really comes together in the end but when reading you still think of the sadness and pain of having to deal with the loss. Nice write.

It's a good poem, I like it, but I can't truely appreciate it because it reminds me too much of how my best friend died on Valentine's day when I was younger, which is something I've been trying not to think about. :P
