I agree with you we are who we are I'm not gay or what ever people want to call it but i look at all people the same no matter their sexual preference. you love who you love. who am I or anybody else to look down upon or judge someone for loving anybody for that matter race same sex or whatever it maybe but simple minded people do. but they're not great gods to cast judgement on anybody. I say love who you're going to love and be happy in your life you're living, no matter what anybody says not even your loved ones if they love you they'll be happy you're happy. Sorry I'm rambling again keep writing fellow writer
Leslie, I agree with the other comments below that this is an amazing poem with a major and powerful message behind it. I really like the different colors to represent the girl's and boy's point of view on their same sex love.Yes, love is simply love! Sadly, in this messed up cruel world we can't love whomever we want without people pointing fingers or acting as if those people are mutts. It's not only sexual disorientation, it's also race and religion. Around small towns, such as ours, loving the same sex or dating someone with a different race is messed up to them. Then they're considered outsiders. There are luckily states that people can go to, to have more freedom with their issues with the predjuiceness. It sucks to escape instead when they can have freedom in any state. I think it's good to let people do whatever they want or love whoever. Though my faith really strongly opposes all of this. Since God first made Adam and Eve, man and woman. I agree with you and I'm absolutely straight! You made a clear point! :)
"Some people judge us.
Most don't understand us.
But we are who we are."
-- See that's what I don't understand. As Christians, we're not supposed to judge others. And look, they go out in the world and pick out every little detail of someone.

I love this poem. I hate it here in OK where most people are insensitive to alot of things including this subject. I'm glad to see others acknowledging love is love, no matter if it's same sex or not.

Crazy, isn't it? People just can't be happy with who people are.
