Ashes

Ashes

A Poem by Secret Lullaby

I watched as my world went down in flames.

Then cried as the ashes came.

Because that ment nothing was lleft standing.

And my heart was left without a safe landing.

I walk along the skeletal remains of my old life.

Wishing that I had a knife.

The life I once new is gone.

And I am going to have to be strong.

If I am going to build it back.

Determination is something I don't lack.

So as the ashes fall out of my hand.

I take a stand.

I will rebuild what was lost.

No matter what the cost.
