Shameful

Shameful

A Poem by LeslieNoel

Shame is a figment
That imprints upon one's imagination
It sits and gathers dust
On the shelf in my mind
Sometimes I find
It's shriveled up voice
Whispering, "You must!"
What must I do?
And in what way do I follow through?
With a camouflage dream
So invisible even I can't even see it
The constraints of age
Are but a manmade shackle
As if the human race doesn't have enough of those?
It raises my hackles
Why add an invisible fence
Chaining yourself to it like a bound beast?
Age, it makes us tense
People live life like they have an expiration date
Live life at your own rate
You don't have to dreams
By a certain date
Live for you
It's never too late
