Greeting

Greeting

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This is a poem from my past and thankfully I no longer feel this way.

"
I suppose sometimes
My greetings fall flat
I say I love you
And just like that

No response

To the cricket's chorus
My resolve is slowly becoming porous
Silence reins clear on the other end
The way this goes I often fend
For the survival of my heart
I used to have you to fill that part
But once again the company I keep
Is the creak, creak, creak of the cricket's beat

A sad poem, but an expressive and well-constructed one. I'm glad these feelings are no longer with you!

The lonesome angst of heartbreak so eloquently captured in this truthful poem that is relatable to any heart that has ever loved. Sometimes we who love ask nothing more than a simple response to show our kindness is meaningful to the one's that hold our affections. Very nicely written and emotive conjuring as well. Thank you for sharing your poem Leslie.
